Recently, FY24 Virginia Main Street (VMS) Downtown Investment Grant (DIG), Community Vitality Grant (CVG) and Virginia Business District Resurgence Grant (VBDRG) recipients were announced. $2.5 million will help communities across the state revitalize their historic commercial districts, expand small businesses and bolster local economies and quality of life for all.
Every year, the VMS program offers a range of services and assistance to communities interested in revitalizing their historic commercial districts, regardless of size. While the Main Street Approach was designed to address the need for revitalization and on-going management of smaller to mid-sized downtowns, aspects of the Approach can be scaled and applied successfully in a variety of commercial settings.
“These grant programs allow us to provide targeted assistance to address the unique challenges facing Virginia’s small businesses, downtowns and historic districts. We look forward to seeing the economic opportunities and growth that these projects will inspire while preserving the unique culture and history that make these Virginia downtown areas consumer destinations and the best place to live, work and do business.”
