Are you located within the Tobacco region of Virginia? The Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Committee has recently posted guidelines on their Small Towns Pilot Initiative. This program is targeted for communities less than 5,500 in population and high vacancy rates in their downtown area. Programs can include co-working spaces, entrepreneurial support, building improvements and other small business recruitment initiatives. Applications are due April 10.

This program could help leverage DHCD and Virginia Main Street resources such as the Commercial District Affiliate grant due March 16, Community Business Launch due April 15 or enhance an existing Community Development Block Grant Business District Revitalization project.
