Four Ways to Continue to Speak Up for Main Street

In our previous Speak Up for Main Street blog post, we highlighted Main Street America’s (MSA) efforts to advocate to Congress for $100 million to be included in a future stimulus package to sustain and expand the incredibly important work of Main Street leaders and organizations throughout the nation. Today, uncertainty surrounds the passing of another relief package, but MSA encourages that outreach efforts continue and the pressure remain strong on Congress to include funding for Main Street coordinating programs, technical assistance and small businesses.

Here are four ways to continue to speak up for Main Street:

  • Organize a Zoom call to connect with your Congressional representatives and/or their staff virtually.
  • Invite your representatives for an in-district visit of your Main Street to showcase your ongoing work to respond to the pandemic and create a thriving local economy.
  • Send a letter to Congress via MSA’s online form, and share with all Main Street stakeholders.

“No matter how you reach out, communicating with Congressional offices will benefit your community and the entire Main Street network. Make sure to report back to our team on your efforts, and always feel encouraged to ask any questions!” – Patrice Frey, President and CEO, National Main Street Center (NMSC)
