Funding Opportunity: Virginia Housing Launches New Capacity Building Grant Program for Non-Profits

Excitingly, a new funding opportunity from Virginia Housing (VH) has emerged! Annually, VH reinvests a portion of their net revenues into Virginia’s communities through REACH Virginia (Resources Enabling Affordable Community Housing in Virginia), a multifaceted resource that the organization uses to support vital housing initiatives through their Homeownership, Rental and Community Outreach programs. As a result, the FY21 Tier 3 Capacity Building Grant has been developed to help non-profit organizations seeking to enhance a current program to result in better outcomes.

Focusing on program enhancement and evaluation, the FY21 Tier 3 Capacity Building Grant will serve as an 18 month intensive process where organizations will analyze up to three existing programs and take a deep dive evaluating the inefficiencies of and improving one program. Working with a VH-approved consultant, organizations will evaluate program outcomes, identify and implement technology solutions and receive an action plan to address other programs.

Interested applicants must submit a Pre-Application by Feb. 28, 2021, and VH will select up to four applicants to work with the Program Enhancement Consultants to complete the full application prior to Apr. 30, 2021. The maximum request allowed is $172,000 (up to $100,000 for eligible agency expenses and $72,000 for the three consultants), and awards will be based on the availability of VH funding.
