We sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s (DHCD) 2021 Creating Community Vitality (CCV) Series! Last month, the year long training wrapped up by reviewing the major lessons of the CCV Series and discussing how to get your community involved as we look ahead to the future.

From storytelling to small-scale production, the CCV Series focused on helping localities build their place’s identity, supportive ecosystems and community, and we hope that participants were able to reflect on the future they’d like to see for their community, identify ideas that rise to today’s needs and develop a path forward.

Special thanks to the diverse group of community and economic development professionals, consultants and leaders for their extraordinary efforts in helping DHCD offer educational webinars and inspirational podcasts throughout 2021 to showcase / discuss how communities have the unique opportunity to build up the amenities, infrastructure and social offerings needed to retain and attract an increasingly mobile workforce.
