Nonprofits and community partners, we see you. We see the painful dilemma you face shutting your doors and cancelling your events to fight back against the community spread of infection. We see you losing critical revenue, often with minimal safety nets, and having to make impossible decisions about what stays and who goes. We see you on the front lines with our communities in crisis, but too often lacking adequate resources to provide the programs and services most needed. We see you having to power down the arts and culture that sustains us. And still, in the middle of this dilemma, we see you adapting, shifting to remote work and building contingency plans, redeploying staff to areas of most need and pivoting to find new, creative ways to build community. We see your resilience. We see you.
And, we are with you every step of the way.
Here is what you can expect from us in the days ahead:
While we will be working remotely at least through April 3, we will be offering NEW virtual office hours, starting next week, for nonprofits to troubleshoot, get resources on any topic and even vent, if needed. See here to sign up. CNE members will have first dibs on the available slots. Cannot make the office hours? You can still contact Kadi Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org or 661-703-4503 anytime for technical assistance support.
We promise to share what we know and help you find what you need because partnership and collaboration are our superpowers. Each will be critical to our collective recovery and to rebuilding our beloved communities. We have created this page to connect you to:
- A collection of curated resources related to scenario planning, budget projections and HR considerations, for example, as well as a calendar of relevant webinars.
- A memo describing emerging and available state and federal financial support for nonprofits.
We are hosting a Collective Sustenance: Peer Support for Nonprofit Leaders virtual gathering on Tuesday, March 31 from 9-10 a.m. to support and learn from each other while getting connected with helpful tools and resources. We are also working to build and deliver online trainings in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned for topical sessions on HR and COVID-19, The Board’s Role in Responding to a Crisis, Scenario Planning, Self-Care and Funding in the Current Climate. Each session will introduce brief content for learning and allow time for questions, with follow-up resources and technical assistance support available. We hope to have the first sessions online by early April, and there will be no charge (though space may be limited).
As we manage through this crisis, we seek to gather information and feedback from you on your critical needs and challenges, and to reach out to funders and community partners to share how best to help the sector. We want to give a powerful, collective voice to what is most important to you right now. Please take five minutes to complete this nonprofit needs survey.
In Solidarity –
The Team at CNE
