In partnership with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR), Preservation Virginia will be offering a series of virtual workshops on the fundamentals of historic preservation. The 2022 Preservation Academy will feature live lectures from preservation professionals of varying backgrounds, with interaction between participants and presenters through Q&A sessions at the end of each workshop.

Preservation Academy Workshop 1 – Historic Districts: How They Work and Dispelling Myths

Preservation Academy Workshop 2 – Understanding National and State Historic Registers

Preservation Academy Workshop 3 – Researching a Historic Site and Submitting Register Nominations
March 30, 2022 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Preservation Academy Workshop 4 – Hiring Preservation Consultants
April 6, 2022 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Participants will be able to receive continuing education credits from the American Planning Association for each workshop attended! Registration is $25 per workshop ($10 for Preservation Virginia Members).
